Lucas always thought that when he fell in love it would be easy, like catching the perfect pitch. The right girl would slide into his life as seamlessly as a ball into his glove. That's what he wanted. A typical boy meets girl, girl falls for jock story.

But that's not what he got.

He had to fall for the one girl he couldn't have. The one girl he shouldn't want. His best friend Aaron's younger sister, Charlee.

How could he not? She breathed fresh life back into his empty soul just by existing. Loving her was as simple as breathing. He just did and nothing would change that.

Now if only he could convince her of that.

Charlee Cooper isn't interested in starting another relationship. The scars from her past left her feeling like it would be impossible to ever truly love someone. It was a part of her life she had come to accept. She has her daughter and that is all the love she will ever need.

When secrets from the past are revealed, the subtle sparks between Lucas and Charlee ignite into a fiery passion neither can ignore.

Will the heat destroy everything she is? Or will a chance at love prove the greatest victory of all?

You decide.

Yours Truly,
Saylor

This is a full length, stand alone bad boy sports romance with a happily ever after. No cliffhanger.

Pitcher Baby eBook Saylor Bliss

Just didn't do it for me. There was more back story of when she was younger than anything in the here and now. The book is called Pitchers Baby, but most of the story revolves around the heroine. The baby wasn't even involved very much with the story line. Very little of the story was about the game or how it impacted the relationship of the characters.
I don't like to be critical because I'm not a writer, but this one just didn't do it for me.

Pitcher Baby eBook Saylor Bliss Reviews

This story was disjointed. It felt like the author wrote a bunch of different segments and then stuck them together. A main theme was forgiveness- forgiving their parents for abandoning, abusing or allowing others to abuse them; however, the main character Charlee just forgives her mom but there is very little development of the relationship between her and her mother- her mom just moves into her brothers house, they have a few moments, one shopping at walmart together and another cooking together, and then there's mention of a night talking it out, but you really dont get the grit, the emotions and the struggle of Charlee working towards forgiving her mom.

Parts of the story were hard to follow. Lucas shared a house with Aaron, Charlees brother, but at some points in the book it sounds like he lives elsewhere, but then switches back to him being just across the hall. The female protagonist does A LOT for a mother with a baby that is only a few months old- like riding on a camel with your baby strapped to you? Seems strange- and I've actually ridden a camel before.

Also Lucas' relationship with his ex-wife was barely touched upon despite him running into her.

This book lacked that special something - everything about it was OK- the sex scenes, the relationships, platonic and romantic, and the treatment of conflicts.

**NOTE I received a free ARC in exchange for an honest review ***
Charlee has had a very tough life growing up, she has went hungry, went without proper fitting clothes etc. Grew up to have her own personal demons that she cant seem to shake off. But one thing is for certain she will not let her daughter grow up living as she did, and she promises that whatever she will do the best for her daughter and not let a day go by without her knowing she is loved. Lucas is a Pitcher and not at all like other athletes, he doesnt like the partying ways, heck her hardly notices woman, that is until his best friends sister moves in.

What I enjoyed most about this book, is watching Lucas and Charlee have much more in common than first meets the eye, how they grow close and how they can calm each other with just a touch. Both of them growing up more, and learning to deal with the demons together to get better. But first trust needs to be there, and that they will learn along the way! How Lucas takes on Charlee's baby girl and treats her like she is his very own child. While he has losses in his life as well, he is learning to live and be happy.

This book is a slow read, not as fast paced. There is loss, depression, drugs, and alcohol when it comes to her mother, and father, and lots of demons to get through. Also child neglect, (in the past memories), This story has a love story that includes family, and lots of stuff to learn about her childhood when she grows up. If you like stories like this, then Pitcher's Baby is a must!!

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review (Thank you!).

Lucas has a tragic past and hasn’t found a woman to interest him until now. The trouble is she’s his best friend’s sister, but he’s not about to let that stop him. Charlee has her own troubled past and she can’t seem to rid herself of her inner monster, goading her into destructive thoughts. She wants to trust Lucas, but when she hears rumors that he’s married she wants to run the other way.

I really enjoyed Pitcher’s Baby. The story was intricate and quite involved with issues of a personal nature, but overall it made the story believable and thought provoking. For a romance it was a bit too deeply involved in issues pertaining to the past for my liking, but the love story evolved around the unfortunate circumstances. The hero was sympathetic to the heroine’s issues and slowly formed a bond with her, which eventually turned to a deep love. I adored the way the hero interacted and loved the baby unconditionally. It tugged at my heartstrings and made him that much more loving and romantic. I’ve previously read Baller’s Baby by Ms. Bliss and have now read Pitcher’s Baby and was happy to have the chance to read stories from this new-to-me author. I look forward to reading many more in the future! 4 Stars!
I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review. I’m sorry but I can’t give this book a positive review. It was very bad. I’m not sure what the author was thinking when this book was sent out for review because it is no way ready…it is still VERY rough. The story is choppy and juvenile, the characters vague and one dimensional. Also, if you are featuring a baby in the title then the baby should have a well developed role. **SPOILER ALERT** e.g. hero asked heroine (with her baby) to spend the day with him at the zoo. The night before she says it was be a great day for the three of them to spend the day together yet in the morning she is dressed and ready, runs out the door to the car. For the rest of the day, it was just him and her having a great time, no mention of the baby at all. Then suddenly at the end of the day the baby appears...huh? The author needs to determine what the entire story is about and how to execute it, keeping track of all the characters and where they are or should be. By the end of the book I was wondering what the heck I just read.
